Origins Face Mask; Out of Trouble Review

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog!

Today I have a review of a product that I have been using over the past couple of months.

origins-out-of-trouble-maskIts the Origins ‘Out of Trouble’ face mask.

I have always had quite problematic skin so I have tried a number of different products. This has to be one of my favourites. Since I started using it twice a week, my skin is definitely starting to clear up. This face mask is so easy to use. You simply layer over clean face and throat. Avoid eye area. Wait 10 minutes. Remove with damp washcloth. Its that simple.

After using this mask, the next day my skin seemed to be in a much better state. It didn’t seem as dull, and my complexion looked a lot more even and not so horrible and rough. The spots were still there, but they weren’t as red and angry and I do honestly feel like they didn’t stick around for as long as they would’ve done. Its perfect for oily/combination skin.

When the mask is first applied, there is a tingling sensation, which in my opinion, shows that the mask is starting to pull out any excess oil and dirt from my pores. Its expensive as it is £24 per bottle, but I think its worth it. Our skin is delicate and always needs to be taken care off, so its okay to spend a little extra on skincare. Plus the bottle is long lasting!

My only complaint would be to make sure to not use it too often or it can dry out your skin, but it’s a mask so I don’t think it should be used daily anyways.

If you have any face mask recommendations, please let me know because I love trying them out!

Thoughts Every Student Has When Trying to Write an Essay..

It’s that time of year again when university deadlines are in full force and more assignments just keep coming at you.

My attention span is practically non existent so I’ve noticed random things pop into my brain which are totally not related at all, but I am pretty sure post students share these thoughts with me and I thought it would make a funny post to share them with you.

1. I have done approximately five minutes work… it’s totally okay to take a break now right..?

giphy

2. I think I’d rather be doing anything but this is damn essay… like poking my eyes out.

3. Why did I go to uni? Who said it would be a good idea?

4. I’ve been at this SO long now, I should be nearly finished…HOW HAVE I ONLY DONE 200 WORDS???

5. Maybe if I take a nap it will make me more productive..(sleeps until next morning).

January Favourites..

Its kinda worrying how quickly time seems to be flying by. It’s already February. How is that possible???

Well, anyways, I thought I would do a little post on what I loved throughout January, because who doesn’t love a favourites post!

gilmoregirlsI have been absolutely loving Gilmore Girls this month. Since finishing my exams, I had a couple of weeks free before I had to go back to uni, so what better way to spend the time than binge watching Netflix. If you haven’t watched this series before, I really recommend it. Its the perfect girly show. Prepare to become obsessed!

In January, I got my eyebrows tinted for the first time. At first, I hated the results. I felt like my brows were too black to match my ginger hair. But after a few days, the blackness faded and now they are the perfect colour. I love them. It makes getting ready and doing make up so much easier.

I have been catching up with one of my closest friends throughout January and we finally got the chance to meet up. We hadn’t met up since August! It’s important to stay connected with the people in your life who make you happy.

Another thing that I have been loving this month is the Origins Ten Minute ‘Out of Trouble’ mask. origins-out-of-trouble-mask I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and it has noticeably improved my skin. I try to use it twice a week as part of my daily skin routine.

I have adored Ed Sheeran’s latest singles this month. My favourite is ‘Castle on the Hill’ but ‘Shape of You’ is also a strong contender. I am so excited for his album to be released in March and even more excited for his tour. I am just really hoping I can get tickets for it!

What things have you loved throughout January, I would love to know!

Give Yourself A Break..

Most days, I find it incredibly difficult to switch off. I hate stopping…I’m one of those people whose mind runs at 100 miles an hours and I literally ~cannot~ think of just one thing at a time. I know multitasking is meant to be something you wanna be good at, but seriously I would just LOVE to be able to concentrate on one task//watch one program//read one book without thinking of the 10001 things I need to do or need to start….brain, you need to chill out.

I’m writing this post at work, when I’m supposed to be concentrating on something else. Classic Aileen, trying to do ten things at one time.

108827-make-time-for-yourselfBut let’s get serious, I mean switching off in a more general sense. Not texting back the person you just ‘neeeeed’ to reply to, not replying to that work message you shoulda sent a week ago, or not doing your online food shop that you should have done three days ago. Sometimes you just gotta STOP and give yourself a  break! Sometimes it’s just too much to keep up with everything and then it all gets on top of you…

It’s OKAY that you don’t reply to everyone who’s ever messaged you straight away because you know what, other people are busy too and their feelings probably aren’t hurt by the fact you haven’t called them back immediately. You need to train your mind to stop over thinking every little thing.

Its important that you take some time to yourself, maybe even once a week. Switch your phone, turn off your laptop/TV. Go for a walk, trust me, walking is perfect for clearing your head. Relax. Try not to stress out about every silly thing.

You’re doing better at life than you may think.

Lets talk about..

Little Mix recently released their latest video for their single ‘Touch’. Its a gorgeous, sexy, feisty video and the girls look absolutely incredible.

little-mix-touch-video-watch-glory-days-1484907164I realise that you’re probably reading this and thinking ‘what has Little Mix got to do with it?’. Well I was scrolling through the comments of their video and there were many comments saying that the video was ‘too sexual’ ‘not appropriate for young viewers’ or that it is ‘too steamy’.

I agree the video is sexy but it is not over sexualised in any way. The girls simply dance and strut around singing to the song. It’s 2017 people get over the fact that women are showing their bodies off because they are confident with it and that they are comfortable in their own skin!

Justin Beiber and Zayn Malik released videos that were ‘sexual and steamy’ and they received no criticism whatsoever. Trust me, I am not hating on either of them because I love their music just as much as I love Little Mix. It is just frustrating that because Little Mix are women, they are constantly being criticised.

Why isn’t it okay for women to show off their bodies if they are confident? Why should we be made feel like crap because we were something that shows off our legs or boobs?

‘Touch’ is a sexual song so it deserved a lil bit steamy video. the girls are 23-25 years old. They are grown women. They have every right to wear what they want, sing what they want and dance how they want to.

Men can walk around with no shirt on and nobody bats an eyelid. But as soon as a woman shows off some leg, society tries to make them feel bad about it.

Its time for society to realise that women are becoming more confident in themselves and that it IS okay for them to do so. It isn’t causing anyone any harm.

*Disclaimer: I realise that it is only a handful of people who judges others. i’m not having a go at everyone, I’m sharing my thoughts*

Super Berry Smoothie..

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog!

Today I thought I would share with you one of my favourite smoothie recipes. Lately, I have started my journey in losing weight and becoming healthier so I have discovered a lot of yummy recipes but this one has to be my favourite.

raspmintsmoothie_dt For this smoothie you will need:

  • 450g bag frozen berry
  • 450g pot fat-free strawberry yoghurt
  • 100ml milk
  • 25g porridge oat
  • 2 tsp honey (optional)

Simply add all of your ingredients except the honey, into the nutribullet or you can use an alternative blender. You can also add ice to make it lovely and chilled. Blend together the ingredients and pour it into a tall glass. You can add a drizzle of honey on top to make it a little sweet and enjoy! It really is simple.

If you try this recipe, let me know! Or if you have a favourite smoothie, I would love to try it out.

My 2017 Plan..

A new year is the perfect chance to grow into the person you’ve always wanted to be.

57561-new-year-new-meI’m the kind of girl who always set resolutions but never actually stuck to them. However, the more I have grown up (I’m going to be 21 this year eek), the more I have realised that goals are important. Realistic goals that is, not silly goals like ‘I’m going to be a size 6 by Christmas’. For some that may be achievable, but for me, its definitely not.

So here are a few of my goals for 2017:

  1. Build my blog – It has been a long time dream of mine to have a successful blog. For me, having nearly 100 followers means that my blog is successful. I didn’t even think that one person would read it. In 2017, I plan on producing better content for you guys, any ideas that you may have will be welcomed!
  2. Have more ‘me’ time – I struggle to make time for myself as I am the type of person that has to make sure that everyone else around me is okay. This year I am going to focus more on me. At the moment I am thinking of something as simple as making the time to get my nails done every few weeks
  3. Get fit – I have said this for so many years now, but I am tired of always failing at it. So I am making it my mission to get fit this year, I’ve already started by simply going for a short walk every day. I have also started to follow Lucy Wyndham-Read on Youtube, she has incredible workouts, I really recommend that you check her out!
  4. Graduate – I’m in  my final year of university. It is terrifying. 2017 really is the year I need to get my shit together. I need to plan what I am going to do when  I graduate. My dream would be to graduate with a 2:1 degree, fingers crossed!
  5. Learn to drive – Kinda a touchy subject but this year I want to learn to drive or to at least start lessons
  6. Be happy – It sounds simple, but my ultimate goal in 2017 is to be happy. Over the last few years I have struggled with my mental health, but I am determined to take control of it this year and let myself be happy. I  plan on spending more time with my friends and doing more of the things I love

Do you have any 2017 goals? I genuinely would love to hear about them
